- Tell us about yourself!
Did you graduate from TAMUCT?
My name is Erik Reynolds, I am currently the Director of Bands at Ellison HS in the Killeen Independent School District. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in the Spring of 2021 with my Bachelors of Music with Instrumental Concentration.
- Tell us about your time at TAMUCT. I came to TAMUCT from Temple College and as a non-traditional student. At the time of graduation, I was 45 years old. This degree comes after two decades working in a church environment followed by 8 years working from home as a professional voice actor. I began my journey to my TAMUCT degree in the Spring of 2019 and was able to complete the degree in a little over 2 years.
- Tell us about your favorite part about attending Texas A&M-Central Texas and why you attended Texas A&M-Central Texas. My favorite part about TAMUCT is the people – the students I went through the program with and the staff were amazing. Such a helpful and collaborative environment especially through the challenges of completing the degree during the COVID 19 pandemic.
- Tell us about any awards, scholarships, or recognition you have received. I was able to earn scholarships for both music and academics during my time at TAMUCT – I graduated with a very low amount of debt because of this.
- Tell us about any work (past or present) that you are proud of: Since graduation I was hired by the Killeen Independent School District as an Assistant Band Director and am completing my 3rd year of employment with them, the past two as the Director of Bands at Ellison High School.
- Tell us anything else you’d like to share! TAMUCT provided me with the opportunity to earn a degree later in life while working full time, a full-time husband and dad of 4 daughters. The staff continues to be a strong support system and I am forever grateful to them and the campus. As a high school teacher, I encourage students to pursue their education at TAMUCT whenever I can!
