Creating a Culture of STEM

Science • Technology • Engineering • Math

A&M-Central Texas is a proud participant in the STEM LEADS initiative, in partnership with Temple College

STEM  Initiative Program

This program is for students participating in the STEM LEADS Program who are transferring from Temple College.

LEADS is a STEM Initiative partnered with Temple College: Temple College and Texas A&M University have received a five-year grant to fund our newly created STEM LEADS "Above and Beyond" Program to ensure our students are positioned for continued STEM academic achievement and successful entry into high-demand STEM careers.

About this STEM Program

Nationwide, there is a growing demand for STEM professionals in the workforce, with a particular need for those from traditionally underrepresented groups. Temple College and Texas A&M University-Central Texas are focusing on students from varied backgrounds, particularly those who traditionally show low enrollment in STEM degree programs. These fields often lead to higher-earning, high-demand careers.

To address this gap, Temple College and A&M-Central Texas, with funding support from the U.S. Department of Education, designed a project aimed at increasing the number of  students pursuing and graduating with STEM degrees, allowing them to enter and succeed in high-impact STEM careers.

STEM Pathways: Programs & Areas of Study

STEM LEADS Program: Learning, Experiences, Achievements, Dreams through STEM Programs and Areas of Study.

We are "Creating a Culture of STEM" pathways, programs and areas of study in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and focusing on our low-income, first-generation college students, and under-served populations in our communities.

The STEM LEADS “Above and Beyond” Program helps ensure our students are positioned for continued STEM academic achievement and successful entry into high-demand STEM careers.
