Teri Johnson serves as a professor of voice in the 4-year music degree offered through Texas A & M University-Central Texas. In this capacity she teaches upper-level classes including Diction for Singers, Vocal Pedagogy, Opera Workshop and Vocal Literature in addition to private voice. Ms. Johnson is also a full Professor of Voice and Director of Opera at Temple College. She holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music, M.M. in Vocal Performance from Converse University Petrie School of Music in Spartanburg, SC with additional training in musical theatre from Syracuse University and is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy, Interlochen, MI. Ms. Johnson works and teaches extensively in opera, art song, and musical theatre as well as jazz and contemporary styles. Before moving to Texas, she was a member of the voice faculty at The University of Memphis for 10 years with an active private studio in Tennessee and Mississippi as well.
