Dr. Chamindika Siriwardana joined Texas A&M University – Central Texas as an Assistant Professor of Biology in 2021. She holds a BS in Plant Biology from the University of Peradeniya-Sri Lanka, a MS in Biology from Texas State University-San Marcos, and a Ph.D. in Plant Biology from the University of Oklahoma-Norman.
Dr. Siriwardana uses a molecular genetics approach to study the function of NUCLEAR FACTOR Y (NF-Y) transcription factors in the plant lineage. Her teaching interests include a variety of courses in molecular and cellular biology, including molecular biology, cell biology, bioinformatics, proteomics, virology, and immunology.
