Rebecca McPherson Profile

Dr. Rebecca McPherson, SPHR, APTD is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management at Texas A&M University-Central Texas, and faculty advisor for the MBA HRM emphasis and BBA HRM-SHRM aligned programs. As a Human Resource (HR) practitioner, she has a background in the field of HR management and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and an Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD). She received her Ph.D. in Educational Human Resource Development with an emphasis in Adult Development from Texas A&M University in 2012 and began teaching at TAMUCT in 2014.

Community impact: Dr. Rebecca is a Texas veteran and actively seeks to contribute to our community and the HR profession through pro-bono work. She provides presentations based on her research at SHRM professional organizations and at HR conferences throughout Texas. She applies her research to practice through project-based consulting, service-learning courses evaluating employer brand management for non-profit organizations. She also provides advice to HR students, HR professionals, and disadvantaged individuals related to career counseling, resume development, job search, and interview guidance.

Areas of professional expertise: Employer brand management-a strategic, systems approach to talent pipeline management and becoming an employer of choice. Talent job mobility - why some talent is more successful than others at job and career mobility, including within and across organizations and industries with an emphasis on disadvantaged demographics.
