Gerald (Rick) Simmons is an Associate Lecturer here at Texas A&M University – Central Texas (TAMUCT). He began teaching at Tarleton State University – Central Texas in 2008, and participated in the transition to Texas A&M University between 2009 and 2013. His teaching interests are in areas of business statistics, and project management, and his research interests include the areas of total quality management and continuous improvement, in particular Lean and Six Sigma. Rick is a trained Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt, from the United States Army Operational Test Command and also received a certificate in statistics from Texas A&M University (College Station). He is also a member in good standing with the American Society for Quality and the Project Management Institute. Rick completed his certificate in project management from University of Phoenix and earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in 2014. Rick is currently developing a Project Management program at TAMUCT and has taught newly approved graduate (2016) and undergraduate (2018) courses in the foundations of project management.
