Kimberly Lovejoy, M.S., LPC, NCC

Kimberly A. (née Lagge) Lovejoy is a Visiting Assistant Lecturer in the Counseling and Psychology Department at Texas A&M University – Central Texas. She is a Doctoral Candidate at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Kimberly completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas A&M University – Central Texas in Killeen, Texas and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Maryland University College, in Grafenwöhr, Germany. Kimberly is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and a National Certified Counselor. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She is a practicing clinician in private practice and specializes in complex trauma, emotional and psychological abuse, and women’s issues. Kimberly has experience in multiple levels of care including acute/inpatient hospitalization, residential treatment, partial hospitalization programs, and has experience working with mood disorders, Schizophrenia/Schizoaffective disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, and abuse and trauma survivors. Kimberly currently serves as Senator for the local chapter of the Texas Counseling Association (TCA) and has been developing a protocol to be used by the TCA which will support counselors who have experienced or responded to community crises, such as natural disaster, mass shootings, and sudden traumatic loss of fellow counselors. She currently teaches Foundations of Counseling, Ethical Counseling, Methods and Practice in Counseling, Educational Psychology, and has experience teaching Practicum in the Mental Health Counseling Program. Kimberly’s research interests include leadership, relational cultural theory, counselor education and counselor training development, professional identity of counselors, and empathy development.
