Dr. Caroline Austin Norris is Clinical Faculty and Director of the Community Counseling and Family Therapy Center on campus at TAMUCT. Her educational background includes graduating with her Bachelor of Psychology in 2012, her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2015 and her Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education in 2018 from Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. Dr. Norris is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor in the state of Texas and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Her most relevant work experience includes her current role as Director of the Community Counseling and Family Therapy Center at TAMUCT. Previously she served as Assistant Director and Mental Health Clinician at the Counseling and Training Clinic at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. At both universities she gained relevant experience teaching Clinical Mental Health Practicum and Internship courses while coordinating training efforts and client support in departmental training clinics. Her research interests include wellness informed approaches to mental health care and use of self-compassion in counselor training programs.
