In addition to the chorale and orchestra performance, A&M-Central Texas and Temple College music students will also perform in a symphonic band concert on Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Temple College Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center led by Assistant Professor of Music, Glen Brumbach, Ph.D.
The anticipated selection for the symphonic band concert was selected by the symphony members, comprised of both students and community members, and includes Percy Grainger, John Williams, and John Phillip Sousa.
Brumbach described the preparation for the concert and the challenging program as an opportunity to showcase the impressive range and skills of both Temple College and A&M-Central Texas music students – some of whom are active students in the shared undergraduate music program between the college and the university.
“The Temple community has always been blessed with a close community and an even closer group of people who love and appreciate the value of music, performances, and both trained and experienced talent and talent that is up and coming,” he said.
“For our community to have the best of both is inspiring, and we call upon our friends in the music community and our neighbors to come out and support the musicians who will be performing for them that evening.”
