Texas A&M University–Central Texas invites the public to its 4th annual holiday celebration, Warrior Wonderland, set to take place on Friday, Dec. 6 from 6-9 p.m. at 1001 Leadership Place. Attendees can experience an array of activities from taking photos with Santa Claus to enjoy games, food, and music provided by local vendors.
The event is sponsored by the A&M–Central Texas University Police Department.
“Last year, we had an amazing turnout, so we have high expectations that this year’s Warrior Wonderland will be even more successful,” Detective Joeliqua Williams, the event coordinator said.
“For last year’s event, we hosted a drive for children at Garden of Hope, collecting board games. With the support of the community, we were able to fill up the back seat of our patrol vehicle, receiving over 100 board games. This year, we will be hosting a toy drive for BIG Love Cancer Care.”
Big Love Cancer Care is a nonprofit organization dedicated to easing the childhood cancer journey, established by a family in memory of a young girl named Brooke who lost her battle to leukemia. Operating year-round, the organization offers a variety of programs at multiple hospitals across Texas, delivering care directly to those in urgent need.
“We are asking participants to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support our Holiday Shoppe event, which allows parents of children with cancer to select gifts free of charge. The more gifts we collect, the more families we can help,” Williams said.
For those unable to attend but wishing to contribute, a raffle will be held throughout November. Participants who donate a toy will receive a raffle ticket, with prizes and more information available on the Texas A&M University–Central Texas Police Department’s Facebook page.
