The A&M-Central Texas Alumni Association will recognize three Central Texas leaders with awards at an inaugural ceremony upcoming September 21st.
Honorees include Anthony Martinez, Ph.D., receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award, joined by Mr. Abdul Subhani, receiving the Distinguished Legacy Alumni Award, and Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Pete Taylor, receiving the Honorary Alumni Award.
Recipients were nominated and selected based on their accomplishments including professional achievement and career of military service, service to society, and service to the university. Kathleen McDonald, Assistant Director of Development credited the alumni association board members for championing the event and recognizing worthy alumni.
“At the university’s 15-year anniversary, we now get to see in the present day what A&M-Central Texas alumni have done and are doing,” she said.
“The Central Texas region knew that our area is filled with people of purpose, academic potential and achievement, and they were right. Almost 11,000 undergraduate and graduate degrees have been awarded by the university in these first 15 years, and these nominees are the best of the best.”
The celebration is sponsored by American Veterans Mission of Killeen, and friends, families, and community members who wish to join the award recipients at the upcoming celebration can find more information and purchase tickets supporting the A&M-Central Texas Alumni Association at https://commerce.cashnet.com/TAMUCTALUMNI?itemcode=AL-9035
