A&M-Central Texas is seeing significant increases in enrollment this spring.
The number of students currently enrolled boasts a near 6% increase over last spring, according to data from the Institutional Research office. The current number of students enrolled is 2,239, and the total number of credit hours students are taking has increased by more than 12% to a current total of 21,172 – indicating that more students are taking more classes compared to Spring 2023. University funding is generated by credit hours.
A&M-Central Texas Interim President, Richard Rhodes, Ph.D., praised the joint efforts of the faculty and staff across campus, noting that Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and University Relations, Clifton Jones, has implemented Transfer Central, designed to simplify the process of applying, advising, and enrolling students by leveraging crucial resources like veteran services and financial aid.
“Whenever growth of this kind is achieved, it is always a collaborative effort,” Rhodes said, adding that the entire campus welcomes both new and returning students to the spring semester.
Rhodes stressed that growth of this kind proves that the combined transfer and graduate program access has been embraced by the Central Texas region, the state, and nation.
“Our faculty and staff are proud of their active engagement in outreach efforts, and they continue to encourage close relationships with their students academically through one-to-one mentoring, community service, and constant encouragement,” he said.
“It’s also worth noting that our advisors and staff are among the best anywhere, and they are committed to developing open and helpful relationships with both new students and students who are continuing to pursue their degrees.”
