Connell Veteran Affairs Center to Host Appreciation and Benefits Expo

Locals with any military affiliation are encouraged to attend the Veterans Appreciation and Benefits Expo Wednesday, November 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Bill Yowell Conference Center, Warrior Hall, on Texas A&M University-Central Texas’ campus.

Attendees can expect to learn about educational benefits and services, connect with veteran service organizations to help with disability claims, veterans' healthcare, and network with others over lunch. The expo is hosted by the Ted and Diane Connell Veteran Affairs Center and VetSuccess on Campus.

With almost half of its student population being military affiliated, A&M-Central Texas provides specific programs, like this one, to support success. Additionally, A&M-Central Texas was chosen as one of the first seven schools in the nation to have an on-campus counselor from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Whether active duty, a spouse, or a veteran, the center strives to ease and improve transitioning to a student at Texas A&M University – Central Texas.

“The Veteran Appreciation and Benefits Expo is a fantastic way to share our appreciation and resources in a setting that allows service members, veterans, family, and friends to learn more about benefits packages to help improve the quality of life for those who have sacrificed so much to afford us the freedoms and liberties we hold so dear,” said Joshua Missouri, director of Military and Veteran Services Center.
