About the Center
Located on the campus of Texas A&M University-Central Texas, the Community Counseling and Family Therapy Center provides quality counseling services for individuals, couples, and families from Killeen and communities throughout the state of Texas.
Counseling Services: Counseling services are provided to children ages 7 and up, adolescents, and adults. All services are provided by masters'-level graduate students supervised by Licensed Professional Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists. Counseling services are offered on a sliding scale, meaning client fees are determined by household income and family size.

How do I set up an appointment?
Appointments for counseling/therapy may be made by calling 254.519.5403. One of our friendly receptionists will provide you with information about our facility and ask you general information about the type of services you are seeking. If our facility cannot address your concern due to the scope of practice of our facility, we will provide you with appropriate referral information to make sure your needs are addressed.
Session length
All individual appointments are scheduled as 50-minute sessions unless otherwise noted by the counselor. Family/couple sessions are also scheduled for 50 minutes.
Session limit
- The clinic does not have a predetermined limit for the number of sessions a client may be seen for counseling.
- Limits are determined by the counselor in training and in accordance with ethical standards provided by licensing boards.
- Clients requiring long-term intensive therapy will be referred to services available in the community.
Fees
In order to accommodate the needs of clients with limited resources, the Community Counseling and Family Therapy Center offers high quality services on a sliding scale based on a client's household size and income. Fees range from $5 to $35 per session and are determined when a client's first therapy session is scheduled.
Referrals
- The Community Counseling and Family Therapy Center is not able to provide treatment for substance abuse or serious chronic psychiatric disorders.
- Individuals requesting such treatment will be referred to other services available in the community.
- Costs of these services will be the responsibility of the client.
- The Community Counseling and Family Therapy Center does not provide psychological, psychiatric, or disability evaluations.
- Individuals needing evaluations, assessments for legal purposes, or expert testimony in court should employ the services of professionals in the community.
