Dr. Lorrie Webb serves as the Dean of the College of Education & Human Development and is a Professor of Curriculum & Instruction. She has worked in higher education since Fall of 2006, when she began as an Assistant Professor at Texas Wesleyan University, then earned tenure (2013) and finally the rank of Professor (2017) at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Dr. Webb also served as Faculty Senate President, Department Chair (2017-2021), and Assistant/Associate Dean (2021-2024) during her time at Texas A&M-San Antonio.

Dr. Webb has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Classroom Management, Educational Technology, Teaching & Pedagogy, and English/Language Arts Methodology, as well as other topics in teacher preparation and advancement. The 15 years prior to university life, she taught various grade levels (Kindergarten through 8th) at public schools in the Waco and Dallas, Texas areas and worked as a Curriculum Specialist in Richardson Independent School District.

Dr. Webb earned a Doctor of Education in Supervision, Curriculum, and Instruction (2005) with an emphasis in Secondary and Higher Education and minors in Educational Leadership and Educational Technology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She also earned a Master of Science in Educational Technology degree (2000) from A&M-Commerce. Although beginning her undergraduate work in Texas, Dr. Webb completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Webb has published over 15 manuscripts in several national and international journals. She has contributed three book chapters and co-edited a book. In addition to her numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations, Dr. Webb has been the primary investigator for four awarded grants. Her main areas of research include technology integration and teacher preparation.
