Educational Assistance
Since Spring 2022, The Texas A&M System has provided eligible employees with the opportunity to participate in the Faculty and Staff Doctoral Program. The program currently covers the cost of tuition and mandatory fees for eligible employees pursuing approved doctoral programs. A sunset review has been conducted, and it was determined that the Doctoral Initiative Program will not accept new participants after May 31, 2025. All participants accepted into the program as of May 31, 2025, will continue to receive funding until May 31, 2028.
Staff Scholarship
As an employee of A&M-Central Texas, you and your spouse and/or child/ren may be eligible for an employee scholarship. The employee scholarship is for 6 semester credit hours (tuition and mandatory fees) and may be used at A&M-Central Texas or $150 per semester at Central Texas College. Faculty & Staff Doctoral Program Incentive
This program will cover the cost of tuition and mandatory fees for eligible employees pursuing approved doctoral programs. It’s available to full-time, budgeted faculty and professional staff admitted to a qualifying doctoral program at any of the eleven A&M System universities. Employees must have one year of service (two long semesters for faculty) and the doctoral program must be related to the employee’s job. Funding eligibility is limited to 6 years. A sunset review will be conducted in the Summer 2024 for purposes of continuation, adjustment, or termination of the program. If the program is terminated, employees in the program would be “grandfathered in” through the end of their eligibility period. For additional qualifying criteria and details email hr@tamuct.edu.
Educational Release Time Program
This program allows full-time, budgeted TAMUCT employees approved for Educational Release up to 3 hours leave time for attending approved educational coursework during normal operating hours. Staff are not required to establish alternative schedules in order to meet the 40 hour work week.
