How It Works
Students earn SWAG points by participating in eligible activities and events. Participation is tracked using card swipe technology embedded within student ID cards and managed within the Warrior Connect platform powered by Modern Campus. This ensures that students' involvement is accurately recorded and rewarded.
Earning Points
Students can earn points by:
- Attending campus events and activities
- Participating in support services and initiatives
- Engaging in clubs and organizations
- Volunteering for community service and civic programs
- Joining student training and learning initiatives
Tracking Progress
Points are tracked and updated regularly. Students can view their progress and see how they compare with their peers on a digital/online success leaderboard. This transparency motivates students to stay engaged and aim for top positions.
Redeeming Points
At the end of each semester, students can redeem their accumulated points for a variety of exciting rewards. These incentives include:
- TAMUCT Swag, Gear and Special Giveaways
- Technology Rewards (Laptops, Tablets, Phones, Fitness Watches, Gaming Systems)
- Gift cards, Store Discounts and Freebies
- Free passes to academic, social and cultural learning events like theater shows, concerts, movies, and art exhibits
Special Recognition Rewards
In addition to redeeming points for incentives, high point earners will automatically receive special recognition rewards based on achievement tiers. These rewards include:
- SWAG Leaderboard listings displayed on the university website and other locations
- Recognition at annual student award and achievement ceremonies
- Certificates and medals for making the Student Affairs Dean’s Campus Involvement List
- Invitations to lunch with university leaders (President, Provost, Deans, Faculty, etc.)
- Media Recognition (social media, newspaper, articles, podcasts, websites, etc.)
- Special social media and event shoutouts
- Special TAMUCT graduation gear and cords recognizing milestone achievements
Academic and Career Integration
In partnership with the Career and Professional Development Center, some activities will be specifically identified as SWAG activities and will include a life-classroom-career description. This helps students:
- Connect academic learning with career interests and goals
- Identify and develop soft skills that may be applied in variety of situations
- Enhance academic success through outside-of-the-classroom experiences
- Think critically about applying in-classroom learning to all aspects of their lives
