Ways to Give

All gifts, in whatever form, are greatly appreciated. Here are some typical categories of gifts. Please let a Foundation representative help you as you consider an appropriate avenue for giving.

Cash Gifts

Cash, in the form of personal checks, credit cards and bank drafts, is the most popular type of charitable gifts. Cash contributions may be deductible and result in tax savings. Checks should be made payable to A&M-Central Texas Foundation and mailed to 1001 Leadership Place, Killeen, Texas 76549. Be sure to indicate the purpose of your gift on the check or in a cover letter.

If you itemize deductions on your federal tax return, you may claim an outright gift of cash as a charitable contribution up to an amount equal to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income. Any deduction not usable in the first year can be carried over for up to five additional years or until it is completely used, whichever is first. You may wish to consult your accountant or tax adviser to determine the tax benefit of your gift.

The Gift Process

Your gift to the A&M-Central Texas Foundation supports a growing, thriving, and inspiring university community where our student’s hopes and dreams for themselves and their families are becoming a reality each and every day.  Depending on the size and type of gift, some or all of the following actions are taken to ensure gift is accounted for and used in a manner consistent with any applicable instructions:

Establishment of Gift Agreement
Gift agreements are established for all gifts and commitments of more than $5,000. Agreements outline the purpose, form, schedule, and administration of gifts. For gifts of less than $5,000, donors may document their preferences with letters, email, or memo.

Deposit and Recording of Gifts
Monetary gifts are deposited into the respective Foundation account as specified by the donor and applicable interest is accrued quarterly. 100% of your gift is placed into the specified account. Currently, the A&M-Central Texas Foundation does not set aside a portion of contributions for administrative fees.

Acknowledgement and Stewardship
We mail a receipt for every gift, as well as a letter acknowledging the gift and expressing our gratitude for your generosity. Unless you indicate otherwise, we’ll stay in touch with you from time to time, sharing university news, updates, activities, and opportunities to stay "in the know!"

Disbursement of Funds to A&M-Central Texas
If your gift is non-endowed, the Foundation disburses the entire gift to the university entity you have designated to receive the funds. We ensure that the gift is used in accordance with your wishes, and we keep you updated regarding its use and impact. If the gift is endowed, funds are invested and interest earnings accrued are used in accordance with donor wishes. In both cases, we keep you updated regarding its use and impact.
