Murray Hospital Welcomes New Chaplain John Carey

MURRAY - Murray-Calloway County Hospital is proud to welcomes John Carey, M.DIV, MS. MAJOR, USA (RET.) as the newest Staff Chaplain joining Kerry Lambert. 

Mr. Carey served for 22 years in active duty in the US Army. He served as Army Chaplain for over 16 years to include Battalion Chaplain, Brigade Chaplain (Command), and more than 3 years in major deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait. He also served in the Special Task Force Medical Afghanistan Chaplain during Operation Enduring Freedom VII, in 2012.

He received his Master in Divinity form Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN in 2000. He completed his CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education), from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2011 where he minister to approximately 300-plus Soldiers and Veterans during this time period. He achieved his Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Counseling at Texas A&M University of Central Texas in 2013.
